Daniel - LEGO builder specializing in fantasy and sci-fi models

Daniel

I've been building LEGO models since I was 7 years old. I displayed my first MOC at Brickcon in 2012 (a microscale model of Echo Base from The Empire Strikes Back) and won a trophy for it. From that moment I was hooked on building for public display, seeing how visitors young and old alike respond to LEGO creations and inspiring future generations of LEGO builders. My models range from fantasy to sci-fi, from microscale to minifig and beyond.

Clint - Castle and fantasy LEGO enthusiast

Clint

I loved Lego as a kid but hadn't given it much thought in my adult years until my late twenties when I found a bin of Lego bricks at a garage sale. Not long after, my brother and I split up our old collection that our mother had lovingly stored. Like many builders, I lamented the amazing Lego sets I missed out on during those dark years without Lego, but I've found the ever-expanding catalog of parts and colors to continually encourage creativity. As I learned about conventions that display and celebrate artists who use Lego bricks as their medium, I began to attend BrickCon in Seattle. As a castle and fantasy enthusiast, I found the Archlug collaborations to be eye-catching, and I enjoyed seeing their creations and talking with the LUG members. One year, while showing a build I called “Jousting World Championships” at BrickCon, I met the coordinator of the castle section, Jordan, who was a member of Archlug, and he invited me to join. I've been privileged for the past several years to collaborate with these great builders on projects that have stretched my abilities and imagination.

Jordan (AK_Brickster) - LEGO Masters contestant and inventor of the Jordan Corner technique

Jordan (AK_Brickster)

I have been building with LEGO since I was about 8 years old, and was always a big fan of the Castle theme. I have been actively back into the hobby as an AFOL for about 15 years, and am a member of ARCHLUG because I wanted to be part of a smaller AFOL community who was more focused on my specific love of architecture than some of the other LUGs in the area. I have made many friendships as a result of my participation in the AFOL community, and ARCHLUG has been a significant contributing factor to many of those friendships. My LEGO claims to fame are being a contestant on LEGO Masters, Season 4 (USA) and inventing the "Jordan Corner", which is sort of a novel way to smooth out the corners of octagonal towers, as kindly highlighted by Tips and Bricks

Koen - Writer at Brick Architect specializing in Castle and Modular themes

Koen

I am a writer at Brick Architect and a passionate LEGO fan. Having returned from a long hiatus in 2018, I have taken my love for architecture and blended it with LEGO to explore how to use bricks as a medium to express creativity. Introduced to ArchLug by Tom, I have enjoyed collaborating with other builders to create unique and inspiring designs while helping highlight the creative nature of LEGO to both the local and broader community. My favorite themes are Castle and Modular and whenever I have spare time can be found building custom builds in those themes!

Tom - Editor-in-Chief at Brick Architect and author of The LEGO Architect book

Tom

I am the Editor-in-Chief at Brick Architect. As a avid fan of architecture, I founded the website in 2015 just before releasing his bestselling book The LEGO Architect (which teaches 7 architectural styles using LEGO bricks). In addition to reviewing new LEGO Architecture sets, I like to write articles exploring technical aspects of the LEGO hobby including LEGO storage, and the LEGO color palette.

Dave & Kelli - The LEGO couple featured in Seattle Times, architectural building specialists

Dave & Kelli

Dave and Kelli Smith became the Lego couple after the Seattle Times featured them in a 2010 article by the Seattle Sketcher, Gabriel Campanario. They have worked together on many architectural buildings and landscapes. After getting married in 2003, one of the first things they did was to buy fifty pounds of bulk Lego off eBay and had a great time sorting it. They have shown their work in Western Washington at places like Brick Con in Seattle, Kids Quest in Mercer Island and the Bellingham Brick and Toy Fair.

Robert - Licensed architect developing headquarters buildings and LEGO MOCs

Robert

Robert is a Washington State licensed architect developing headquarters buildings for fortune 100 corporations. Robert builds architectural and pop culture MOCs with several Lego User Groups.

Cody - Castle and microscale LEGO enthusiast, specializing in ruins and apocalyptic settings

Cody

Newer builder still collecting parts and hoping to get space for it. I've always loved lego and it was the 2007-2010 castle sets that really solidified that. I had my "dark age" around 2011-2018 until being pulled back in by the modulars, specifically the Brick Bank and many others available around that time. I love castles, ruins, apocalyptic settings, and microscale (castles, cities, and occasionally mechs).
